　　本場會議探討的是宗教上家庭及孩童的歷史和衝突。此主題檢視了孩童與青年在不同的宗教少數群體裡(含基督教、天主教，及猶太教)和跨越地理界限所獲得的成長經驗。透過比較家庭與孩童參與不同團體的信仰策略、體驗和觀察，提供了一種全新研究方法，以了解早期現代中，宗教之於孩童及社會歷史之關係。

　　This conference explores the history of family and childhood, in conjunction with that of religion, religious conflict and the confessional state. It examines the experiences of children and young people in various religious minorities (Protestant, Catholic and Jewish) and across geographical boundaries. Comparing the strategies, experiences and perceptions of different groups, through a focus on childhood and family, offers a new understanding both of early modern childhood and of the social history of religion.
